Church History
The United Pentecostal Deliverance Temple, founded by the Reverend Dr. June R. Montague,
is located at 810 East 49th Street in the borough of Brooklyn, between Avenue D and Foster
Avenue. The United Pentecostal Deliverance Temple is an extension of the Deliverance
Ministry founded by the Late Apostle Arturo Skinner. Dr. Montague, endeavoring to carry on
the vision of the Deliverance Ministry given to the late Apostle Arturo Skinner, evangelized in
the New York metropolitan area and the Southern States of America, the West Indies (Jamaica,
Barbados, Aruba and Trinidad), England, Africa and Israel.
The congregation outgrew its first store front building which was located at 1125 Church
Avenue, Brooklyn, New York and in August 1988, an alternative site was purchased with an
address at 75 Clarkson Avenue. The need to have adequate space to worship further led the
Church to relocate in May 1991 to its present site. The building once a Jewish Temple is now
dedicated to perpetuate a religious and administrative base to provide the community and
residents with exposure to, and instruction in religion in, the teaching of Christ. The bible tells
us that God gave His law to Moses and He wrote upon the table of stone the words of the
covenant the ten commandments - the guidelines that men should live by and follow after
until He comes back. God wants to put His commandments in the hearts of the people.
He can change lives.
